Veterinary Technicians

We are looking for reliable, fun, outgoing and hard-working Veterinary Technicians to join our family friendly practice! Put your skills to the test in a team environment with great co-workers and fun team events scheduled regularly. Certification is preferred but non-certified (with 5 + years’ experience as a vet tech) will be considered, CVT students and new CVT graduates are urged to apply and will be considered as well. Full-time and Part-time opportunities available.Those without experience or without any of the above mentioned credentials will not be considered or contacted. Competitive benefits available. Externship

Cat’s Corner Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA accredited, Fear Free certified, feline only practice located in Oxford, CT. We are a general practice veterinary hospital that focuses on feline wellness, preventive care, and dentistry.

Our externships are available to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students. The dates and duration of the externships are flexible based on the students needs(most externships are for a 3-4 week period). We are limited to providing one externship at a time, so we encourage students to submits their requests as soon as possible.

Goals of our externship are to provide new veterinarians with a practical, educational experience working closely with our team and gain mentorship from our veterinarians.  Externs will be given the opportunity to practice the problem-solving, technical and communication skills that they have acquired during their clinical preparation, under the supervision of our veterinarians. Students will assist with exams and appointments, scrub into surgery, assist with dental procedures and hospitalized patient treatments during regular working hours.

We offer housing to our externs in the on-site living quarters.

Requirements:

  • Externs are required to have Student AVMA PLIT insurance
  • Be enrolled in an accredited DVM program.
  • You are authorized to work in the United States.

Volunteer Positions

Volunteer opportunities are available to high school SAE students and college veterinary students. Contact our Office Manager for more information. Or if you are interested, please supply your resume and cover letter explaining your interests and intentions.
